Part of Badalona in Spain the was once a blacksmith workshop that was transformed carefully and cleverly by Albert Brito Arquitectura into a light-filled contemporary home. Spread across two different levels it is a fabulous light well and a wonderful stairway that form the spine of this rejuvenated interior.

The lot on which Cest La Vie sits is surrounded by tall trees giving those inside ample privacy while also offering a natural acoustic barrier. This cloak of green allows for the design of an open home where pavilion-style interiors flow into the fabulous courtyard the expansive pool deck and the rejuvenating Jacuzzi outside.

It is natural daylight that offers necessary illumination during the day cutting back on energy needs even as a the steam shower and the Jacuzzi next to the rooftop garden complete a home that is as sensible as it is stylish

The new extension houses a contemporary kitchen and dining in neutral hues with warm timber surfaces providing the necessary warmth and textural contrast. Timber plays a major role in shaping the interior of the extension with even the pending lights above the dining table being crafted in wood and concrete!

Nestled in a busy residential neighborhood of the city the was refurbished and revitalized using a smart rear façade crafted using concrete glass wood and brick. Designed by A for Architecture the new addition holds the open living area family zones kitchen and dining space of the house.

It is easy to fall in love with this modern industrial Barcelona home where space has been carefully reimagined to create a flowing interior. Much of the original building and its industrial elements were left intact as the exposed brick walls metallic framework and exposed wooden beams mingle with polished contemporary finishes.

What truly stands out in case of the Valiant House though is the brilliant use of whitewashed brick to usher in both textural contrast and pattern even as a stunning contemporary kitchen island in black along with a dark ceiling create a sense of sophistication. The dramatic is balanced carefully with the inviting as skylights bring in ample natural light with a view of the small rear garden adding to the effervescence.
